The beginning of the 2026 Academic Year has seen many of our students welcoming younger siblings. The staffroom has also welcomed some new teachers; three in the English Department and our new Assistant Director. The 2 full-time English teachers have introduced themselves in separate blogs, but here I would like to introduce our lovely part-time English teacher, Ms Jobel Wong. Her positive attitude and caring aura has already placed her among the popular teachers, and we are happy to introduce her to the KIHS world.

Personal Statement（自己紹介）

Hello, everyone! My name is Jobel Wong and I am pleased to be part of the learning community at KIHS. I have over a decade of teaching experience and have been living and working in Japan for more than eight years. I hold great respect for Japan, its people, and its culture. Moreover, my passion for language teaching caused me to pursue a master’s degree in Language and Literacy Education.
I am into “adrenaline-rush” activities. I experienced bungee jumping in Gifu, the highest bungee jump in Japan, and white-river rafting in Kyoto. I also had a USJ annual pass and tried the Jurassic Park ride several times. Hiking is also one of my favourite things to do. I hiked several mountains in Japan including Mount Fuji.
I genuinely hope that my background in education, my experience in teaching, and my interests will help me foster my students’ love for learning.
