The 2025 NextGen AI Summit was held in October, hosted by the glorious city of Naples, Italy. The historical city, overlooked by the powerful Mt Vesuvius, combined classical architecture with passionate people. The Opening Ceremony was nothing but glamourous, and showcased the intellectual and artistic nature of the future direction of AI.

2025年度次世代AIサミットが10月にイタリアのナポリで開催されました。雄大なヴェスヴィオ火山を望む、長い歴史がある都市ナポリでは、歴史のある建築物と情熱的な現地の人々が見事に調和していました。開会式はとても華やかであり、AIの未来を知的で芸術的に表現していました。

International Education／国際教育

From Day One, students were enchanted by the buildings in which the summit would be held. An opening session gave students the political direction of countries such as China, Spain, Canada, and Argentina. The ambassadors shared encouraging signs for the future of education with phrases such as “educate, not regulate” (Estonia), “a tool, not master” (Slovakia), and “safeguarding human-centred learning” (Algeria). The session ended by proposing two questions for the summit: to which tools encompasses inclusive access; and how can AI be used in educational assessment?

サミット初日、本校の生徒たちはサミットが開催される建物に感動していました。開会セッションでは、中国、スペイン、カナダ、アルゼンチンなどの各国の政治的な方向性が参加者に示されました。各国大使から将来の教育に向けたメッセージとして、「AIを規制するのではなく、AIを用いた教育を」（エストニア）、「AIはツールであって、支配者ではない」（スロバキア）、「人間中心の学びを守る」（アルジェリア）といった言葉を述べられました。このセッションの締めくくりとして、このサミットを進めることにあたり、二つの問いが提示されました：
①総合的なアクセスが可能となるツールとは何か？
②教育的な評価においてAIをどう活用すべきか？

Thematic Sessions (during the morning)／テーマ別セッション（午前中）

Each morning, students attended lectures from world-renowned experts on everything related to AI from policy to face-to-face education. After each lecture, students were invited to ask questions, and this was fully embraced by the KIHS students in attendance.

各日午前中、参加者は政策から対面教育に至るさまざまなAIに関連するあらゆる分野の世界的に著名な専門家の講義を受けました。各講義終了後には質疑応答の時間が設けられ、この時間で本校の生徒たちは積極的に質問をしていました。

Workshops (during the afternoon)／ワークショップ（午後）

Each student was placed in one of the 60 groups consisting of eight students from around the world. Conducted exclusively in English, students discussed the advancement of AI and how it is effecting their learning. Finally, they were tasked with creating a future goal of the United Nations for adopt, which was presented in a letter to the Italian Minister for Education.

世界中から集まった参加者は、8名ずつ60のグループに分けられました。議論は英語で行われ、AIの進歩とそれが学びどのような影響をあたえるのかについて話し合われました。最後に、参加者は国連が採択すべき将来の目標を策定する課題を与えられ、その成果をイタリア教育大臣宛ての書簡として提出しました。

Hotel and Restaurants／ホテルとレストラン

As guests of the Italian Ministry, we were privileged to have all arrangements made on our behalf. The hotel, a lovely 3-star near the university district, was comfortable and quiet – perfect for relaxing after the long days at the summit. The restaurants were fantastic, too. We were able to enjoy Naples’s specialty Margarita pizzas and creamy gnocchi. Every evening, the restaurant offered a different three-course meal of local seafood to Napoli style pork (like a thick salami), and the students used this time to relax and chat with peers from various schools across Europe.

私たちは、イタリア外務省のご厚意で、全てを手配してもらえました。ナポリ滞在中は、大学が集まる地区に近い、三つ星ホテルに泊まりましたが、快適で静かに過ごすことができ、サミット期間中の長い一日の疲れをしっかり癒すことができました。レストランも素晴らしかったです。ナポリ名物のマルゲリータピザやクリーミーなニョッキを味わうことができました。毎晩、レストランでは地元のシーフードからナポリ風豚肉（厚切りサラミのようなもの）まで、日替わりの3品コースを提供。生徒たちは食事の時間を利用して、ヨーロッパ各国から集まった参加者とリラックスしながら交流していました。
