Making an AI Introduction

The second event between KIHS and the Italian Ministry took place over one and a half days. The first half day allowed the students to meet their teammates and enjoy learning about school life in the other country. The similarities provoked further discussion into the students’ feeling about their school and the subjects they learned. The longest discussions were about the different subjects they learned.

KIHSとイタリア教育省の間で6月に引き続き、2回目のイベントが1日半にわたって行われました。最初の半日（7/17に水都国際高校で行われました）は、生徒たちがチームメイトに会い、相手国の学校生活について学びました。そして、お互いの学校に対する思いや学んだ科目について、議論しました。彼らが学んだ科目については長く議論をしていました。

These discussions linked to the theme of the School of Making event: Learning in the AI Era. Students were able to exchange personal stories of both success and failure in learning through, or with, AI. Many of the students were surprised by the different rules their peers in Italy or Japan had to follow in regards to AI usage in classes.

これらの議論は、スクール·オブ·メイキング·イベントのテーマである「AI時代の学習」とリンクしています。生徒たちは、AIを通じて、あるいはAIを用いて学習したときの成功と失敗、両方の体験談を交わすことができました。多くの生徒は、授業でのAIの使用に関するイタリアや日本の学生が守らなければならないさまざまなルールに驚いていました。

Learning through AI

The second day was held in the auditorium of the Italian Pavilion. A popular venue for visitor, the Italian pavilion provided an excellent backdrop for the international event. The eight groups were given time to create an AI goal for future students and create a presentation using AI tools.

2日目（7/19）はイタリアパビリオンの講堂で行われました。8つのグループに分かれ、将来の学生のためのAI目標を設定し、AIツールを使ってプレゼンテーションを作成しました。

  

The students also had to create a cover image that would be displayed during the presentation. They had to use an AI Station, so had to write a detailed prompt before submitting it to the creation team. This was a first experience for many of the students, so great care was taken to get as much specific detail in the prompt to allow AI to create exactly what they envisioned. The final products were amazingly creative and gave students confidence in using modern tools as well as their English ability.

生徒たちは、プレゼンテーション中に表示されるカバー画像を作成しなければなりませんでした。「AI Station」を使わなければならないので、作成チームに提出する前にAIに対して詳細なプロンプト(指示)を提示する必要があります。これは多くの生徒にとって初めての経験だったので、生徒たちが思い描いたものをAIが正確に作成できるように、細心の注意を払って指示していました。最終的に出来上がったものは驚くほど独創的で、生徒たちに、英語力だけでなく現代的なツールの使用についても自信をつけてくれました。

Taking the Stage

The final presentations were performed in front of Education Minister (Mr Guiseppe Valditara) and Consulate General (Ambassador Mario Vattani). Each group had two presenters – one Japanese and one Italian student – who outlined their educational bridge for future generations in the use of AI. With only a few short hours to design, prepare and practise the presentations, students were understandably nervous. However, KIHS student, Eito Ueda, took to the stage and spoke with authority. Other students followed and performed well, before Mr Valditara ended the event with an impassioned speech about the connections between our great nations in our drive towards future educational success.

最終プレゼンテーションは、イタリア教育大臣（Guesppe Valditara氏）と総領事（Mario Vattani大使）の前で行われました。各グループには、日本人1人とイタリア人1人という2人のプレゼンターがおり、AIの使用における将来世代のための教育の橋渡しの概要を説明していました。プレゼンテーションの設計、準備、練習にわずか数時間しかなかったため、生徒たちは当然ながら緊張していました。しかし、本校生徒の上田英人さんはステージに上がり、堂々たる発言をしました。他の生徒もそれに続き、良いパフォーマンスが出来ました。Valditara氏による将来の教育の成功に向けた２か国間のつながりについての情熱的なスピーチでイベントを終えました。

Taking it All In

After the event, the students exchanged pleasantries with their international peers who would be returning to Italy shortly. They were then given the chance for a private tour of the hugely popular Italian pavilion. Inside, they took in the history of Italian art and technology, and learned about the Sicilian region of Italy from a tour guide – a history major at an Italian university.

イベントの後、生徒たちは間もなくイタリアに戻る友人たちと交流を深めました。その後、大人気のイタリアパビリオンのプライベートツアーの機会を与えられました。彼らはイタリアの芸術と技術の歴史を吸収し、イタリアの大学で歴史を専攻したツアーガイドからイタリアのシチリア地方について学びました。

We completed the event by enjoying the Expo fireworks display before heading home for some well-earned rest.

十分に働いた休息の前に、万博の花火を楽しんでイベントを終えました。

Continuing the Connection

Due to the success of the events held at the 2025 Osaka Expo, an invitation was extended. The Italian Ministry of Education and Merit have invited a delegation of 8 students, who performed exceptionally well at the events, to participate in the Next Generation AI International Summit, which will be held in Naples from 9th to 13th October 2025. These student will represent the future of Japanese education and its connection to AI. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will help our students’ knowledge of international AI teachings and help them to better prepare for the future.

2025年の大阪万博で開催されたイベントの成功により、さらなる招待がありました。イタリア教育省は、2025年10月にナポリで開催される次世代AI国際サミットに、このイベントで特に優れた成績を収めた8人のKI生を招待しました。彼らは、日本の教育の未来とAIとのつながりについて代表として発表します。一生に一度のこのような経験は、生徒たちの国際AI教育に対する知識獲得やより良い未来の構築に役立つでしょう。
